Pepper Mince

Ingredients

  • Mince ยผ kg
  • Onion 1 (sliced)
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Pepper powder ยฝ tsp
  • Turmeric powder ยผ tsp
  • Potatoes 2 (cut into thick slices)
  • Oil 4 tsp

Instructions

  1. Cut the onion into mince and fry in oil.
  2. Add turmeric powder after the onions turn pinkish.
  3. Chop up tomatoes and add to the onion along with salt.
  4. After the tomatoes become pulpy, add the mince and briefly fry. Then add a cup of water.
  5. Let it cook in the pressure cooker for 5-6 whistles
  6. Leave out the steam from the cooker and add Potatoes (cut into 8 pieces).
  7. Add half cup of water if the water content is reduced and let it pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  8. Remove the lid of the cooker after leaving out the steam.
  9. If there is water, allow it to dry on high flame. Once the curry is drying, add pepper powder and mix well. Allow the curry to dry well so that it turns brown. This gives the curry a lovely taste.
  10. Cover the cooker so that the flavours stay inside the cooker.

Notes

– This recipe can be had with chapatti.

– Ginger-garlic paste is not added to this recipe.
