Hot Mince

Ingredients

  • Mince ยผ kg
  • Onion 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Green chillies 2 cut into 1 inch pieces
  • Curry leaves 1 stalk
  • Tomatoes 2 (chopped)
  • Potatoes 2 cut into cubes
  • Chillie powder ยฝ tsp
  • Turmeric powder ยผ tsp
  • Vinegar 2 Tbsp
  • Oil 4 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add oil in the cooker and after it turns slightly hot add the chopped onions to it.
  2. Fry the onions till it turns pinkish. Then add the ginger garlic paste and let it fry for some time.
  3. Add curry leaves and green chillies. Let it fry for 1 minute.
  4. Then add the chillie powder and turmeric.
  5. Cut the chopped tomatoes and fry till shredded.
  6. Then add the mince and fry briefly. Add salt then Add ยฝ cup of water and let it cook in the pressure cooker for 5-6 whistles.
  7. Switch off the gas and let out the steam from the cooker.
  8. Add the chopped potatoes to the mince and let it cook for 3-4 whistles
  9. Remove from gas and let out the steam from cooker. If the curry seems watery then put it back on fire without the lid.
  10. Add 1 tsp or two of vinegar and let dry. Allow the curry to dry

Notes

  • ย The vinegar is used to preserve as well as a drying agent.ย 
  • This recipe tastes good with chappatis.
