Chigoor & Meat

Ingredients

  • Meat ยผ kg
  • Chigoor ยฝ kg (ยพ Kg should be purchased, because after removing the stalks and crushing the leaves, the amount would be reduced. Wash the chigoor clean to remove sand particles. Remove the leaves from the stalks and crush the leaves by rubbing the them in between the palms to a powdery consistency. Remove all stalks that appear in the crushed leaves). Keep this aside)
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Turmeric ยฝ tsp
  • Chillie powder 1 tsp
  • Onion 2 (sliced)
  • Green chillies 3-4 (slit)
  • Green Mango 1 (Peel off the skin and cut into long pieces and the seed should also be used preferably with a little mango to it)
  • Oil 3-4 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. The meat should be boiled and kept aside.
  2. Add all the above ingredients to the boiled meat and cook for two whistles in the pressure cooker.
  3. Remove the steam and let it dry. Do not allow it to burn or the taste will change.
  4. Keep mixing it at intervals to avoid getting caught at the bottom.
