Dry Nettle Fish And Brinjals

Ingredients

  • Dry Nettle fish handful or more
  • Brinjals ยผ kg (cut into half and sliced)
  • Onions 1 (minced)
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves 2 stalks
  • Tomatoes 2 nos.
  • Green chillies 2 (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • Chillie powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder ยฝ tsp
  • Dhania powder 2 tsp
  • Tamarind Tennis ball size (washed and soaked)
  • Salt To taste
  • Oil 3-4 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a kadai
  2. Add the nettle fish and fry until it turns slightly brown on all sides
  3. Add the oinion, curry leaves and green chillies. Let it fry for 1 minute
  4. Add the ginger garlic paste and let it fry for some time.
  5. Add the chillie, turmeric and dhania powder. Mix well
  6. Now add the chopped tomatoes and let it fry. Add salt at this stage.
  7. If the ingredients are dry, add a little water and continue frying till the gravy turns mushy.
  8. Add the tamarind juice. Then add the sliced brinjals. Cook on a medium flame. Cover the kadai with a lid and let it cook till the brinjals are tender and cooked. Switch off the fire.
  9. Curry is ready and can be eaten with rotis or steamed rice.
