Dry Capsicum Fry
Ingredients
- Green Capsicum (Shimla mirch) 250 gms
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Kalonji seeds (onion seeds) 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds (methi) ยผ tsp
- Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 tsp
- Chillie powder ยฝ tsp
- Turmeric ยผ tsp
- Dhania (coriander) powder 1 tsp
- Amchur powder (optional) ยฝ tsp
- Sugar ยฝ tsp
- Salt ยฝ tsp or according to taste
- Basin flour (chickpea flour) 2 tsp
- Oil 2 Tbsp
Instructions
- Wash the capsicums and slice it. Discard the seeds.
- Heat up the oil in a Kadai and add all the seeds. When they begin to splutter, add the sliced capsicum and stir it well. Let it fry for 5 minutes.
- Now add the chili, turmeric, dhania powders and salt. Mix well and fry for another minute.
- Finally add the amchur powder, sugar and basin flour. Mix well and fry for another minute.
- Switch off the heat and cover the kadai.
Notes
This stir fry is a very good recipe for long journeys.ย Can be eaten with pulkas or puris.
