Dry Capsicum Fry

Ingredients

  • Green Capsicum (Shimla mirch) 250 gms
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Kalonji seeds (onion seeds) 1 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds (methi) ยผ tsp
  • Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 tsp
  • Chillie powder ยฝ tsp
  • Turmeric ยผ tsp
  • Dhania (coriander) powder 1 tsp
  • Amchur powder (optional) ยฝ tsp
  • Sugar ยฝ tsp
  • Salt ยฝ tsp or according to taste
  • Basin flour (chickpea flour) 2 tsp
  • Oil 2 Tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash the capsicums and slice it. Discard the seeds.
  2. Heat up the oil in a Kadai and add all the seeds. When they begin to splutter, add the sliced capsicum and stir it well. Let it fry for 5 minutes.
  3. Now add the chili, turmeric, dhania powders and salt. Mix well and fry for another minute.
  4. Finally add the amchur powder, sugar and basin flour. Mix well and fry for another minute.
  5. Switch off the heat and cover the kadai.

Notes

This stir fry is a very good recipe for long journeys.ย  Can be eaten with pulkas or puris.
