Thilli (White Sesame) Chutney

Ingredients

  • Thilli 3 tbsp
  • Garlic 2-3 pods
  • Tamarind 1 small lump (should be soaked in some water)
  • Chili powder ยฝ tsp (or to taste)
  • Salt to taste

For seasoning

  • Oil 1 Tbsp
  • Mustard seeds ยฝ tsp
  • Curry leaves 1 stalk (6-8 leaves)
  • Dry red Chili 1 (cut in 3-4 pieces)

Instructions

  1. Roast the thilli and keep it to cool. Then dry grind it.
  2. Add the garlic chillie powder and salt and grind again.
  3. Finally add the tamarind and some water and grind to a smooth paste.
  4. For the seasoning, add the ingredients in a kadai/wok and then add it to the chutney.
  5. Mix thoroughly and it is ready.

Notes

This chutney can be eaten with Tomato rice, kichiddi, chapatti, idli, dosa, uttapam, etc.
