Sooji Halwa

Ingredients

  • Semolina/Sooji 1 cup
  • Ghee 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water 4 cups
  • Crushed cardamom 2
  • Raisins & chopped almonds ยฝ cup

Instructions

  1. In a pan mix water and sugar and bring it to a boil.
  2. In another pan, fry sooji (semolina) in Ghee (clarified butter) till slightly golden and ghee (clarified butter) separates.
  3. Add cardamom, raisins and almonds. Now add the sugar water mixture to sooji (semolina) carefully so as to avoid lump formation, stirring continuously and cook till the Ghee separates.
  4. Spread the sooji on a greased plate and allow it to cool down.
  5. Cut into squares or diamond shaped pieces.

Notes

Consume within a day or two.
