Tostada – Avocado and Pulled Pork

Yield: 2
Prep Time: 10 minutes

A tostada is toasted (or not) bread loaded up with deliciousness. There are a million combinations of them and they could be eaten for breakfast, as appetizers, as snacks or dinner even.

Devoured it so fast, that I couldn't get a picture.

Ingredients

  • 100gms – Leftover pulled pork
  • 1 pc – Avocado
  • 1/2 medium onion sliced thinly
  • 1-2 chilies for the brave
  • Olive oil (optional)
  • Sliced bread – Freshly baked sour dough works best
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Toast 2 large slices of sour dough bread. Add a bit of olive oil here if the toaster you have only has a very high setting and dries out the bread.
  2. Cut the avocado and spread it thickly over the freshly toasted bread.
  3. Add a bit of salt at this point if you like your food seasoned well.
  4. Add the chillies at this point or skip if you’d like a mild version of this.
  5. Line the sliced onions over the bed of avocado.
  6. Pile up the pulled pork. Make sure it’s hot.
  7. Cut into bite sized pieces or server as one large slice, either way it tastes fantastic!

Notes

Make sure the pork is hot. If it gets too cold, it doesn't taste as great.
