Bhature (Puri)
Ingredients
- Maida/Plain flour 2 cups
- Rava/Suji/Semolina 1 Tbsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Salt ยฝ tsp
- Baking powder ยฝ tsp
- Baking soda/cooking soda 1 pinch
- Oil 2 tsp
- Curd 1 cup
- Maida/plain flour ยฝ cup (for dusting while rolling the puris)
- Oil For deep frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl take the flour. Add the rava, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda and mix well.
- Add the oil and rub it into the flour so that it crumbles slightly.
- Now add the curd and start kneading the dough.
- Knead it for at least 5 minutes. Then coat the dough with a little oil, cover it with a moist cloth and keep it aside for at least 45 minutes to an hour.
- After the resting time, mix the dough again and then divide into small balls as per requirement for puris.
- In a deep kadai, add the oil for deep frying of the puris. Let it turn hot.
- In the meantime dust the rolling board with the flour and roll out the puris.
- Roll out a few at a time for frying. Donโt roll out everything and then try to fry it. It may stick to each other and cause to re-roll.
- Fry the puris until it is golden brown on both the sides. Drain out the excess oil and keep it aside until all the puris are fried.
