Butter cookies (eggless)
Ingredients
- Powdered sugar โ ยฝ cup
- Butter โ ยฝ cup
- All-purpose flour โ 1 cup
- Salt โ ยฝ tsp (skip if the butter is salted)
- Vanilla โ ยฝ tsp
Notes
- Measure and keep all the ingredients ready.ย Butter should be soft at room temperature or melted.
- In a mixing bowl sieve the powdered sugar.
- Add butter, using a hand whisk or electric beater, blend for 2 minutes till smooth.
- Pour in the vanilla essence.
- Whisk in the flour and salt. This batter looks crumbly at this stage.
- Knead it lightly, bring it together and wrap it in a cling film and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven in the meantime for10 minutes @180ยฐC.
- Line a tray with butter paper and dust with some flour.
- Remove the dough from the fridge and roll into ยฝโ and cut out desired shapes.
- Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes @ 180ยฐC. Adjust the timing according to the browning of the cookies.
- The cookies will be soft to the touch after baking it, but on cooling will crisp up.
- Decorate once the cookies have cooled down.
