Murrukus
Ingredients
- Rice flour โ 2 cups
- Urad dhal โ ยฝ cup
- Butter 1ยฝ Tbsp
- Ajwain or Thilli โ 1 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil to deep frying
- Warm water for mixing the batter
Instructions
- Dry roast the urad dhal to a light colour. After it cools down, process it in a blender and sieve it.
- Add rice flour, urad dhal flour, salt, butter, Ajwain or thilli and enough warm water to mix the ingredients into a soft dough.
- Grease the muruku mould and fill the dough into the mould.
- In the meantime get the oil hot for frying.
- Using the mould drop in the murukkus and fry on a medium flame to a light golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the murukkus and keep it on a newspaper or kitchen towel to drain off excess oil.
