Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • Bread 1 loaf (slightly firm and not soft
  • Milk 1 liter
  • Egg 1
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Sugar ยฝ cup
  • Sugar 2 Tbsp (for caramel)

Instructions

  1. Boil the milk and remove from fire. Add the sugar and mix till dissolved.
  2. Then add the vanilla essence and keep aside.
  3. Beat the egg and add to the milk. Mix well.
  4. Add the crumbled bread to the boiled milk and keep mixing on a low flame till it thickens.
  5. In another vessel add the sugar and 1 tsp of water and let it caramelize.
  6. Rotate the caramelized sugar around in the vessel till well coated. Place the bread mix in this container and put to cooker to which a cup of water is added and stem for 5-10 minutes. Remove and let it cool to room temperature.
  7. Then keep in the refrigerator to cool.
