Onion Chutney

Ingredients

  • Onions 2 (medium)
  • Tamarind small lump (1 Tbsp) soaked for 10-15 minutes
  • Garlic 3-4 pods
  • Chillie powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut up one onion into chunks.
  2. Put it in a mixie jar.
  3. Add salt, garlic pods (crushed), chillie powder and the soaked tamarind.
  4. Do not add water at all, because the onion will leave out enough juice and moreover the soaked tamarind will also contribute to the moisture.
  5. Grind it to a smooth paste and serve.

Notes

This chutney has a tangy taste and goes well with pulkas, chapattis and kichidi
