Tomato Chutney

Ingredients

  • Tomatoes 5-6
  • Garlic 2-3 pods
  • Mustard seeds ยฝ tsp
  • Curry leaves 2 stalks
  • Dry chillies 2
  • Chillie powder ยฝ tsp
  • Oil 1 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Grind tomatoes, garlic and salt in the mixie to a smooth paste (do not add water).
  2. Heat the oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds.
  3. After it begins to splutter, add the curry leaves and then the dry chillies (let the flame be low).
  4. Add the chili powder and a little salt to taste.
  5. Finally add the ground tomatoes to the seasoning and let it cook till it thickens lightly.
