Boti Curry (With Methi)

Ingredients

  • Methi leaves 2 bundles
  • Onions 1 chopped
  • Spices Cinnamon 2 pieces, Cloves 3, Cardamoms 2
  • Green chillies 3 (cut into ยฝ inch pieces)
  • Coriander leaves 1 bunch (small) chopped
  • Curry leaves 1 stalk (chopped)
  • Tomatoes 3 chopped
  • Ginger/garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Chillie powder 1ยฝ tsp
  • Turmeric powder ยฝ tsp
  • Lime 1 no.
  • Oil 2 tbs

Instructions

  1. Wash the methi leaves, keep aside
  2. Heat oil and then add methi leaves (do not let it get burned because it makes the curry bitter)
  3. Then add the onions and let it fry. Add spices, then ginger/garlic paste and let it fry.
  4. Add Turmeric powder and chillie powder and let it fry
  5. Add green chillies and tomatoes. Let it fry for some time.
  6. Add the boti and salt to taste and give it 2-3 whistles in the cooker.
  7. If the curry has too much of gravy, leave it to dry without the cooker cover.

Notes

Boti has to be boiled for 6-7 whistles in the cooker and then cut into small pieces before making the curry.
