Methi-Ka-Baaji & Meat (Vendor Greens & Meat)

Ingredients

  • Meat ยผ kg
  • Methi (Fenugreek) leaves 2 bundles (about ยพ cup)
  • Onion 1 (chopped)
  • Green chillies 2 (cut into 1 inch pieces)
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Coriander ยฝ bunch
  • Tomatoes 2 chopped
  • Potatoes 2 (cut into quarters)
  • Coconut powder 2 Tbsp (ground fresh coconut can also be used)
  • Turmeric powder ยฝ tsp
  • Chillie powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut The Bunches Of Methi And Wash Thoroughly To Remove Sand (Use A Strainer).
  2. Keep Aside To Drain.
  3. Heat Oil In The Cooker. Once It Becomes Hot Add The Methi Leaves To Fry Just For 1 Minute. Avoid Burning.
  4. Then Add The Chopped Onions And Let It Fry Till Light Pink.
  5. Add Ginger-Garlic Paste, Fry For Some Time.
  6. Then Add The Powdered Coconut. Add Green Chillies, Turmeric Powder And Chillie Powder.
  7. Add The Cut Tomatoes, Salt And Coriander. Keep The Fire On A Low Flame. Add Some Water For Gravy.
  8. Add The Meat And Let It Cook For 5-6 Whistles In The Cooker.
  9. Then Remove The Steam And Add Potatoes.
  10. If The Water Is Less, Add Some Water For Gravy. Let It Cook For 2-3 Whistles And Switch Off The Stove. Do Not Leave The Steam From The Cooker For Some Time.

Notes

In place of meat, chicken can also be used.
