Methi-Ka-Baaji & Meat (Vendor Greens & Meat)
Ingredients
- Meat ยผ kg
- Methi (Fenugreek) leaves 2 bundles (about ยพ cup)
- Onion 1 (chopped)
- Green chillies 2 (cut into 1 inch pieces)
- Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
- Coriander ยฝ bunch
- Tomatoes 2 chopped
- Potatoes 2 (cut into quarters)
- Coconut powder 2 Tbsp (ground fresh coconut can also be used)
- Turmeric powder ยฝ tsp
- Chillie powder 1 tsp
- Oil 2 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Cut The Bunches Of Methi And Wash Thoroughly To Remove Sand (Use A Strainer).
- Keep Aside To Drain.
- Heat Oil In The Cooker. Once It Becomes Hot Add The Methi Leaves To Fry Just For 1 Minute. Avoid Burning.
- Then Add The Chopped Onions And Let It Fry Till Light Pink.
- Add Ginger-Garlic Paste, Fry For Some Time.
- Then Add The Powdered Coconut. Add Green Chillies, Turmeric Powder And Chillie Powder.
- Add The Cut Tomatoes, Salt And Coriander. Keep The Fire On A Low Flame. Add Some Water For Gravy.
- Add The Meat And Let It Cook For 5-6 Whistles In The Cooker.
- Then Remove The Steam And Add Potatoes.
- If The Water Is Less, Add Some Water For Gravy. Let It Cook For 2-3 Whistles And Switch Off The Stove. Do Not Leave The Steam From The Cooker For Some Time.
Notes
In place of meat, chicken can also be used.
