Pepper Water – Spicy
Ingredients
- Tomatoes 1 medium size
- Curry leaves 2-3 stalks
- Coriander leaves 3-4 stalks
- Garlic 3-4 pods
- Jeera 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds ยฝ tsp
- Pepper corn 1 tsp
- Tamarind 1 small lump (about 1 Tbsp)
- Jaggery 1 small piece (about a marble size)
- Salt 1 tsp or lesser according to taste
Seasoning:
- Onion 1 small (sliced)
- Curry leaves 2 stalks
- Mustard seeds ยฝ tsp
- Oil 1 Tbs
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients, except the jaggery, into a blender and grind to a coarse mixture.
- Place this mixture in a pressure cooker and add 2-3 cups of water.
- Add the jaggery piece and put it on to boil for 2-3 whistles.
- For the seasoning, heat oil in a kadai and add the onions.
- When it begins to turn golden brown, add the other ingredients.
- After the mustard seeds begin to splutter, remove from fire and add to the pepper water.
- Heat the pepper water and serve hot.
